Juveniles Chairman Welcome

Written by  Administrator

It is a privilege for me to be chairman of Cumann An Phasáiste Juvenile section and to be part of such a dedicated committee. Bill Power (sec), Colin Lester (treas), Damian Taaffe (vice chairman), Tom Harrington (board delegate) and Kieran Harrington along with being on committee they are also involved in managing and coaching their respective teams.

The Juvenile section of Cumann An Phasáiste has over the last number of years gone from strength to strength because of the many dedicated people who have given of their time to promote it. Cumann An Phasáiste has over the years have produced many great players who have been products of the under-age section and who have represented Cork Hurling and Football at many different levels and at the moment we have some of our younger players who are making a name for themselves at Intercounty level and who are destined to become household names of the future.

This year we have teams from under 9 to under 16 inclusive in both Hurling and Football and while we have people to look after all teams we always welcome those who would like to become involved in just helping the coaches get pitch ready for training and to give a hand when training is finished. In 2010 we also started a section for Boys and Girls between the age of 5 and 8 years of age. This section, Pasáiste Óg, had at the end of the season a membership of over 70 players. We intend to have this section up and running again in early March this year beginning with Football.

We will also have Club Gear for sale in our Club shop which is another scheme which we have implemented this year. Orders will be taken on Registration Night 19/02/11 between 6 and 8 pm in Club and also on 20/02/11 between 11am and 1pm.

My aspirations for Cumann An Phasáiste are that we will be able to compete at the highest level in both codes, we have the talent coming through our under-age section and also have very dedicated mentors who will give every encouragement to the players to achieve this. It is our hope all our players will form bonds of friendship with each other that will last a lifetime and that each and everyone will take pride in representing Cumann An Phasaiste.
