Junior Ladies Team Junior Ladies Team

Passage Ladies Junior team have been graded in Division 4 C for 2011. The six teams in our section include Dripsey, Ballyphehane, Douglas, Donoghmore B & Castlemagner.
To date the girls have played Dripsey, Ballyphehane, & Douglas.

Passage 2-8 Vs Dripsey 1-11

Our first league game was played on the new pitch in Manning Park and the ladies were very honoured to play their first league game on this magnificient new facility. This was a special day as the Ladies Junior team were presented with a complete new kit courtesy of Gillian O’Sullivan Window Interiors, East Village, Douglas. We very much appreciate this sponsorship & thank John & Gillian O’Sullivan for their support.
The game was highly competitive and ended in a draw. Credit to all players and especially our young newcomers, goalkeeper Sophie Collins, Grainne Quirke & Louise Walsh were all outstanding on the day.

Ballyphehane 5-10 Vs Passage 1-5
Passage travelled to Ballyphehane for our next game. At the break Passage trailed by 4 points. The second half proved to be a different story as Ballyphehane’s experience came through getting some quick goals to put the game beyond our girls.

Passage 1-4 Vs Douglas 3-10
Douglas travelled to Passage for our 3rd league game last Monday, 12th April. With a number of injuries, Passage were up against a physically strong Douglas side. Passage were under pressure all over the pitch but credit to all players. Defensively Passage were under a lot of pressure and at the break the score was 1-8 . Sophie Collins was excellent between the posts and was well guided by dependable backline of Carolyn Mullane, Clodagh Murphy & Niamh Cahill. As always Sinead O’Reilly, Gemma Cooney & Louise Walsh worked tirelessly to close out the strong Douglas attack.
Passage gave a very spirited performance in the second half and the introduction of young players Grainne Quirke & Amy Corkery along with hardworking forwards Natasha O’Sullivan, Bridget Geary & Louise Murphy were unlucky not to register a few more goals, hitting the post & crossbar on a few occasions. Tia McMahon & Lisa O’Sullivan battled hard to contain the talented Mackey twins at midfield.
Unfortunately we had a few casualties during the game and wish Nora & Clodagh & Louise Walsh well and hope they recover soon.
