Passage played their first home match in the City League on a beautiful evening in Manning Park tonight against a good Blackrock side. It was a game that the Passage lads will look back at and see that they had numerous wides and missed three very good goal chances to win the game.

Passage backline were under pressure from the start and found it hard to cope with Blackrock's direct style of play, but they still held their opponents goaless till the last five minutes when Blackrock got their only goal of this encounter. The Passage forwards were guilty of over carrying at times and only when they played directly did they look dangerous, but the continued to have some bad wides. Passage forward and new player, Donagh Long, scored two very good goals and one point. Marc Howard scored five points, Michael Mullane had a very good outing for his first game outfield in many a year and got a very good early point. Johnny Byrnes got 3 points and Adrian White one point at full forward. The score at the final whistle was:- Passage 2-11 Blackrock 1-18.
