There was strong play in the halfback from Ross McAuliffe and Adrian Corkery to set up a lot of these scores, resulting in Passage leading 3-12 to 0-04 at half time.
Passage coach Billy Cotter was pleased at halftime but highlighted two or three foolish indiscipline's towards referee decisions which came back to haunt the team resulting in the management taking the right decisions by withdrawing two senior players for continuing on with this. Clondroghid came thundering back into the game and scored 2-10 to Passage’s 0-02 from Ryan Carroll but Passage have goalkeeper Gary Tett to thank for winning this game when he made a great save from a 20m free with a couple of minutes to go. Players to play well were Cian Power, Ross McAuliffe, Niall O’Connor, Ryan Carroll and Adrian Corkery. Hopefully the Passage players will learn from this and go forward and play the type of hurling we know they are capable of playing. Final score Passage 3-14 Clondroghid 2-14.
