May 13th 2011 - Junior A Football - Passage v St Finbarrs

Passage Junior A Football team played a very strong ‘Barrs team in Ballinlough last Friday night but were unfortunately never in the game and were badly beaten. The lads have now two weeks to recover and prepare for the backdoor against the losers of St.Michaels v Na Piarsaigh.

Passage backs tried hard against the Barrs all night but with the Barrs dominating all of the midfield area they were on the rearguard all of the time. Passage hopefully, with a fully fit team, will recover from this loss and go and win the next round.

May 15th 2011 - Junior B Football - Passage v Ballyphehane

The Junior B Football clash of Passage v Ballyphehane was played in Ballinlough Sunday morning and thankfully we came away with a hard fought victory. Passage played a way below themselves but survived a late surge by Ballyphehane to hang on by one point at the final whistle. Passage started slowly with a strong breeze at their backs but wasted lots of possession and took wrong options in front of goal, The halftime score was Passage 0-04 to Ballyphehane 0-02.
The second half started a bit better and a great penalty by veteran player, Kevin O’Brien, gave Passage a six point lead going into the last quarter. Unfortunately after another point and a seven point lead, Passage let Ballyphehane back into the game to score five unanswered points and missed two goal chances, but Passage hung on to win 1-06 to 0-08 and go onto the second round. Best for Passage were Niall Harrington, Kieran Burke, Ross McAuliffe and Kevin O’Brien. Passage, if they prepare properly, could be a match for all teams.
