PASSAGE VIBRENT FOOTBALL TOO STRONG FOR COURCEYS.
Passage 8—7 Courcey Rovers 1---06
Passage Under 14 Football team proved much too strong for Courcey Rovers in the Rebel Og East B Football final played at a sunny Carrigaline on Thursday evening.
The score suggests that Passage had things all their own way but it was not until the final quarter that Passage stamped their authority on the game when they blitzed Courceys with 4 goals inside a five minute spell.
Passage took the game to Courcey’s from the start with full forward Luke O’Hanlon opening the scoring with a point after 2minutes, Courcey’s level with a D.J Twomey free minutes later and were in front for the only time in the game when James Crowley had them 2pts to 1 pt in front on 12 minutes.
Passage playing some outstanding fast open football were getting a stranglehold all over the pitch and it was no surprise when corner forward Jack Heffernan banged home the opening goal with twenty minutes gone. On top at midfield through tremendous work by Liam Power and Cillian Quinlan, the Harbour side took control coming up to half time Milosz Packzkowski finished off a great move to bang home goal number two, to let the score 2—03 to 3pts at the break.
Courcey’s came more into the game early in the second half with three unanswered points from James Crowley and Aiden O’Donovan, to let six points between the sides. Two goals inside two minutes from Milosz Paczkowski and Luke O’Hanlon had Passage in a commanding position with 15 minutes remaining. Courceys did pull a goal back through D.J.Twomey, but again a four goal barrage from Eoin McMahon, Jack Dorgan, Conor Coughlan and Luke Hanlon had the harbour side out of sight with time running out.
Passage had start performers in all sectors of the field, Full back Jack O’Mahony gave a towering display, ably abetted by corner back Thomas Harrington, Centre back Jamie McCarthy was well in control, with Thomas Killen as was midfielders Liam Power and Cillian Quinlan.
The six Passage forwards gave an awesome display of fast open football with star players Milosz Paczkowski, Jack Dorgan, Luke Hanlon, and Jack Heffernan in total control.
Courcey’s had star players in James Crowley, Aiden O’Donovan, Shane Corcoran.
But never looked like causing Passage any major trouble.
